Woolbeding Cottage Bed & Breakfast

Chris, The Dora and I spent a blissful bank holiday staying in this truely idyllic cottage in West Sussex. It really is as good as it looks in the pictures, if not better, and gives the cottage in ‘The Holiday’ a run for its money.

Clare is the perfect host with fantastic attention to detail. REN products in the bathroom, tea, coffee & home made cakes in the bedroom, and a superb breakfast.

Arundel Castle, Goodwood House, Cowdray Estate are all close by as well as many excellent pubs and woodland walks.

Wedding Diary – Pretty Bridesmaid Dress Ideas

With my wedding now in the not too distant future, I am getting pretty excited. I only hope that by June the weather will have moved on from this. What is this?!

It has been an interesting journey finding the dress of my dreams, and quite a challenge finding the shoes! Without giving too much away at this point I am going to share a few of my discoveries with you over the next few weeks, starting with the maids.

To find something sophisticated for your maids, a great place to go to is Maids To Measure. Choose your dresses in any colour from an extensive range of styles and have them altered to suit the style of your wedding and fit your maids perfectly. Or have your maids choose thier own dresses so you know they will love what they are wearing.

Love the vintage feel of this dress and the beautiful bell sleeves on the dress below. Perfect for a country or boho wedding.

For little bridesmaids dresses I discovered www.ilovegorgeous.co.uk/ who do the prettiest ethereal style dresses…

and www.daintydizzy.co.uk/ who make gorgeous tutu skirts in a variety of lenghts and colours. If my flower girls were the right age they would defintiely be wearing these!

Madeleine Thompson’s Style Q&A

At their Spring/Summer 2013 buying appointment with Madeleine Thompson, Katie & Jo went behind the scenes in search of style advice and her must-haves for the season.

Madeleine Thompson’s Style Q & A

What are your style highs and lows?

I am loving the bold prints of SS13 but I have to be careful how I wear them and not look too OTT! Also I am either in a very very high shoe or a flat and I’m pregnant so i’m in flats most of the time so feeling quite tiny walking around!

What inspired your new collection?

I have always loved vintage prints and blouses so i wanted to try some pretty vintage inspired blouses that compliment the cashmere. We’ve also introduced a beautifully soft and luxe very light gage 100% cashmere which is just stunning. Perfect for spring!

What style advice would you give to a younger you?

I tended to go for very loose fit bohemian clothes in my 20′s and i think i could have gone a little more fitted on occasion!  But i’m pretty happy with the way I have dressed as i think i’ve always remained true to my own look!

Which celebrities would you like to see wearing your clothes?

I am obsessed with Laura Bailey at the moment as she’s so English and so beautiful – I think she would suit the new collection well!

Which do you prefer? Bold colours? Or prints?

BOTH!

What’s your ‘must-have’ accessory this season?

A brightly coloured bag that shouts summer. This Maison Scotch satchel would do nicely http://www.katieandjo.com/new-in/pink-leather-satchel.html

Tips On How To Wear SS13′s Hottest Colour Trend

Orange is a major colour trend for both women and men this season. It can be a very flattering color for most skin tones since it instantly adds a natural glow to your skin. But there is a certain style power behind it all! Most importantly you should check the shade to make sure it’s right for you, and always wear orange in moderation with flattering colors. We would suggest you avoid wearing orange with black, unless its October and you are dressing up for Halloween. Try teaming orange with yellowy shades or nude tones for a fresh summer time look, or if you are on the cautious side, by introducing orange to your look through your accessories. A pop of colour with a bag or scarf like Jessica Alba…

Rachel Bilson carries off this trend perfectly with a grey dress and cropped orange jacket.
