This oh so comfortable jersey dress by Maison Scotch (£85.00 in store only at Katie & Jo). It has clever ruching and some aztec detail around the waist to hide my tummy. Wore it with gladiators to dinner with my lovley friend Serena at Wahaca on Southbank last night.
I can’t believe he managed to keep it a secret, but it was honestly a surprise until the day we left. The day after our wonderful wedding Chris whisked me away to Kasbah Tamadot in the High Atlas Mountais. It was the perfect place to unwind after what had been a pretty crazy few months. Once we were well rested and far too well fed, we collected bikes and headed higher up in to the mountains to the village of Imlil, to do a few days of steep mountain biking, follwed by long massages. Hot work, but well worth it for the stunning mountain views as we cycled through small Berber villages. Then back to more relaxation, good food and lots…
Invitations printed by The Letter Press of Cirencester We both love this time of year when the garden is in full bloom, Buttercups fill the fields and the river Tweed glistens in the sun. We loosely went with a Mid Summer Nights Dream theme but most importantly wanted our wedding to be colourful, laid back and to fit in with the beautiful country surroundings. About six months before the wedding we started collecting lots of bright blue and clear crystal vases from charity shops and Ebay to use for the flower decorations on the tables, and as many vintage lace place mats as we could find, to lay along the middle of the tables. Mum fluffed up hundreds of…
Chris, The Dora and I spent a blissful bank holiday staying in this truely idyllic cottage in West Sussex. It really is as good as it looks in the pictures, if not better, and gives the cottage in ‘The Holiday’ a run for its money. Clare is the perfect host with fantastic attention to detail. REN products in the bathroom, tea, coffee & home made cakes in the bedroom, and a superb breakfast. Arundel Castle, Goodwood House, Cowdray Estate are all close by as well as many excellent pubs and woodland walks.
With my wedding now in the not too distant future, I am getting pretty excited. I only hope that by June the weather will have moved on from this. What is this?! It has been an interesting journey finding the dress of my dreams, and quite a challenge finding the shoes! Without giving too much away at this point I am going to share a few of my discoveries with you over the next few weeks, starting with the maids. To find something sophisticated for your maids, a great place to go to is Maids To Measure. Choose your dresses in any colour from an extensive range of styles and have them altered to suit the style of your wedding…
At their Spring/Summer 2013 buying appointment with Madeleine Thompson, Katie & Jo went behind the scenes in search of style advice and her must-haves for the season. Madeleine Thompson’s Style Q & A What are your style highs and lows? I am loving the bold prints of SS13 but I have to be careful how I wear them and not look too OTT! Also I am either in a very very high shoe or a flat and I’m pregnant so i’m in flats most of the time so feeling quite tiny walking around! What inspired your new collection? I have always loved vintage prints and blouses so i wanted to try some pretty vintage inspired blouses that compliment the cashmere….
Orange is a major colour trend for both women and men this season. It can be a very flattering color for most skin tones since it instantly adds a natural glow to your skin. But there is a certain style power behind it all! Most importantly you should check the shade to make sure it’s right for you, and always wear orange in moderation with flattering colors. We would suggest you avoid wearing orange with black, unless its October and you are dressing up for Halloween. Try teaming orange with yellowy shades or nude tones for a fresh summer time look, or if you are on the cautious side, by introducing orange to your look through your accessories. A pop…
As a working mother, it can be very stressful when the childcare falls through, which mine did today. Fortunatley for me I am a mamber of Likeminders http://www.likeminders.co.uk/. Within minutes of calling Likeminders this morning, Bryony, one of the founders of the company, had found me a CRB checked, experienced and very friendly babysitter who turned up within the hour to help. Thank you!
